Elevating poultry prices
According to AKI PÁIR data, in Hungary the producer price of live broiler chicken grew by 6.9% to HUF 443.2/kg, while that of live turkey augmented by 7.8% to HUF 638/kg in the first 34 weeks of 2025 (compared to the same period last year).

The processing price of chicken breast fillet was HUF 1,989.5/kg (+14.2%), bone-in chicken breast cost HUF 1,265.3/kg (+10.2%), chicken breast (total) was available for HUF 1,908.4/kg (+11.2%) and chicken legs cost HUF 910.6/kg (+3.1%) during the period observed.
European Commission data shows that the EU average price of whole chicken was EUR 290/100kg in the first 34 weeks of 2025, which was 8% higher than in 2024. AKI slaughter statistics indicate that 348,600 tonnes (live weight) of poultry were slaughtered in Hungary in the first half of 2025, 4.5% less than between January and June 2024; from this 278,400 tonnes (+7.2%) were broilers and 35,600 tonnes (+2.7%) were turkeys. According to data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH), Hungary’s poultry meat export dropped 3% to 104,000 tonnes in the first half of 2025. Our poultry meat import was down 35% at 25,000 tonnes during the period under review.
