Takeaway fee, convenience fee – unexpected extra costs for purchases
More and more food delivery companies or retail players who undertake home delivery are incorporating additional costs, which are not always hidden costs, and they are not always proportional.

Plenty of extra fees added to basic costs thesedays
“It can be several thousand forints, for example, in the case of ticket purchases, and for parking, the amount that is paid to the person under the title of convenience fee can be twice the parking fee”
– economist Zsombor Essősy, president of Magyarok a Piacon Klub, told VG.
“In a market economy, it will be decided after a while whether these costs have a right to exist. Previously, the passenger had to print out his ticket before flying, if he forgot to do so, he could fly tens of euros more expensive. This procedure has now been surpassed by the market”
– reminded Zsombor Essősy.
“He added that the market players are trying to reduce their expenses and improve their profits with the additional costs passed on to consumers, and citing environmentally friendly measures, they would prefer to shift their services online, therefore it is contradictory to charge convenience costs for online sales introduced to replace paper-based ticketing. “For several segments the door is still open as to what hidden costs they will invent, but this much is certain that profit generation can be well sold as a convenience service”
– he told.
