Waitrose Removes Shrink Wrap From Multi-Pack Cans Of Own-Brand Grocery
Upmarket UK retailer Waitrose & Partners has announced that it has removed plastic shrink wrap from multi-pack cans of private-label tinned grocery products.
The shrink wrap, mostly made of single-use plastic, is used to keep three or four cans together for convenience.
In October of last year, the retailer removed plastic wrap from multi-pack cans of its bestselling staples.
The initiative will help the retailer in removing more than 45 tonnes of single-use plastic from its operation annually.
