PENNY ranks first among TOP Employers
PENNY has been ranked first in the food retail category for the third time in the 2025 TOP Employers ranking of the international career platform WhereWeWork, which is based on reviews from current and former employees. The company also made it into the top three of the entire list of 50 companies for the second time.
The WhereWeWork ranking is compiled based on 70% of the overall employee ratings and 30% of the results in five key areas – benefits, development opportunities, work-life balance, management, and company culture and values. PENNY’s ranking this year shows that the company is able to create a workplace environment where employees feel valued in the long term.
“At PENNY, we believe that the best workplace starts with listening to and involving our employees. Feedback-based operations and conscious decisions by managers contribute greatly to making the company one of the best places to work in the retail sector, which is also confirmed by the evaluations of our current and former employees”
– said Silke Janz, CFO responsible for HR.
Team spirit is one of PENNY’s strongest cultural values. New colleagues receive support from day one, and continuous professional training for managers ensures stable, transparent guidance. The people-centered approach is also reflected in feedback-based decisions and support in difficult situations.
In addition, the company provides seasonal product packages to colleagues working in logistics and sales, and offers a wide range of employee discounts – from a 10% purchase discount in its stores to numerous partner discounts. The employee assistance program also plays an important role, providing help with health, mental, financial and other personal issues. The benefits contribute to employees being able to do their daily work in a predictable environment.
