For the first time, Visa awarded women-owned businesses in Hungary, and the five winners each received HUF 2 million support and one-year mentoring, Visa announced to MTI on Friday.
In its program called Visa’s She’s Next, it provides funding, business management and development assistance to businesses owned by women. Almost four hundred businesses applied for the tender announced in Hungary in March, 87 percent of which were micro-enterprises from a wide variety of industries, including health/lifestyle, retail, fashion and art.
On June 15, a team of experts and entrepreneurs listened to the concepts and business plans of the ten finalists. The jury then selected the five winners.
Among the winners is the Fajszi Paprika Manufaktúra, which since 1990 has been engaged in the cultivation and processing of artisan paprika from Hungarian farms on nearly 30 hectares. I would like to use the tender support primarily for asset development, increasing the size of the plant and building a greenhouse.
The primary goal of the Fatipli Workshop, which specializes in the production of unique furniture, is to develop the workshop’s machinery and to launch a woodworking and furniture-making workshop program primarily for women.
