Metro overtakes

The German wholesale chain overtook Tesco in 2008 and became the world's third largest trader behind Walmart and Carrefour.

According to the study of Deloitte and Touche; Metro sold goods worth of 99 billion USD, while Tesco sales  were 96 billion USD. According to analyst; Metro’s profit primarily due to the strengthening of the euro, compared to the dollar.
Walmart leads the charts of global traders with 401 billion USD, while Carrefour is on the second place – reports Világgazdaság Online, after AFP.
