Celebrating great figures of the past
In 2022 two iconic figures of the trade are going to be commemorated.
János Rákóczi (born 125 years ago), the creator of the internationally renowned cottage cheese cake named after him, will be celebrated with a nationwide programme series, which is going to focus on secondary schools with a confectionery programme. There will also be a spectacular cake show in the Hungarian Museum of Trade and Tourism (MKVM).
Henrik Spelter (born 140 years ago), who used to be president of the guild for 26 years, will be remembered with confectioners based in Tata choosing a couple of recipes from Mr Spelter’s book, preparing them and selling them in gift box packaging. A commemorative plaque will also be placed on the wall of the house where he was born. //
