The Rio Carnival will be cancelled this year
The world-famous Rio de Janeiro carnival will be cancelled this year due to the pandemic caused by the new corona virus, Mayor Eduardo Paes has announced.
“I never hid how passionately I love the carnival and I can clearly see how much of an economic impact it has on our city. Nevertheless, it seems pointless to experience for ourselves that the conditions will be such that we can keep the carnival in July,” he wrote on Twitter. (MTI)
