The onion festival in Makó to be cancelled
This year’s Onion Festival in Makón will be cancelled – Barna Gábor, the head of the city marketing office announced the decision on Friday.
The festival is traditionally the biggest event in Makó; in recent years it has been held in the main square of the city, for three days, with the performance of stars, with a wide gastronomic offer. It usually attracted tens of thousands of people to Makó. This year it would have been the thirtieth festival in a row.
Barna Gábor said that the organizing work was started in the spring in the hope that the restrictive measures would be lifted by then due to the high vaccination.
However, the legal background has not changed, so the program is expected to be held only next year.
The contracts were concluded with the performers in preparation for this as well. (delmagyar.hu)
