Contrary trends in the Hungarian economy
According to the summary of the Central Statistical Office (KSH); two opposite processes took place in the Hungarian economy in the first five months of the year: while industrial production increased, the domestic sales and employment declined.
Until the end of May, industrial production increased by 7.3 percent, (compared to the 23 percent decline of the previous year), while the industrial production in May increased by 13.7 percent. The value of exports grew by almost 20 percent. Due to the high import share of imports, imports also grew by 16 percent, between January and May – reports hirszerzo.hu.
