The tourism development of the Sió river has started
With the technical surveys, the tourist development of the Sió has begun, which will allow to canoe on a 85 kilometer section of the river linking the Danube with the Lake Balaton and a cycling path will also be built next to the river.
The project was launched with the 340 million forints support of the Regional and Municipal Development Operational Program. At the first meeting of the eight-member consortium on Monday, Ribányi József (Fidesz-KDNP), vice-president of the Tolna County Local Government, presented that twelve landings and seven stops with host buildings will be built near the Sió river. At these multimodal junctions, there will be several modes of transport: bicycles, kayaks and canoes for the tourists – he added. (MTI)
