The national average score required for admission to university studies in tourism and hospitality rose by 40 points in 2025 for state-funded places.

Some 17 institutions announced tourism and hospitality programme

This significant increase indicates the growing popularity and prestige of the programme. In 2025 17 institutions advertised the programme, with a total of 10,331 applicants – 2,250 of whom making it as their first choice. The Budapest University of Economics and Business attracted the biggest interest, with 723 students admitted.
