Award to SPAR for environmentally conscious innovation

SPAR Hungary Commercial Ltd. has received a special award by XIX. Hungarian Innovation Prize for its innovation called “Using and recycling trash for energetic purposes”.

Being environmentally conscious and delivering useful technological innovations have always been top priority for SPAR. The company runs nearly 400 outlets and two logistics center and a Meat Byro. In these outlets, 1900 tons of trash is being created. Within the compass of the newly introduced biogas-program this amount of litter is turned into so-called “green energy”, moreover the amount harmful gases is also decreased.
