Shelf rail came alive
Innovation plays an ever-increasing role inside the stores too. As the result of cooperation between Toshiba Tec, CBA and Szintézis, in August 2009 electronic shelf rails were installed in Veszprém’s CBA Plaza. The name of the solution is Toshiba Tec E-rail and it is a world premiere: on each shelf a display is mounted that run flash files which advertise the products on the shelves.
Statistical data proved that three times more shoppers took products from the E-rail shelves. Stores can sell this surface to advertisers and at the same time e-rails can boost sales too, while shoppers receive useful product information.
