According to analysts, the negative inflation is temporary
The September inflation data of minus 0.4 percent is lower than the market expectations, but analysts considered the slip into negative territory only temporary and they expect an annual average inflation rate close to zero. According to the Ministry of National Economy (NGM), the Hungarian economy is characterized by subdued inflation.
The Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Thursday that the average level of consumer prices were 0.4 percent lower in September than a year before, while compared to August, prices decreased by 0.6 percent. The market expectation for annual inflation was minus 0.1 percent in September. (MTI)
