Analysts: wage outflows slowed at the beginning of the year
At the beginning of the year, the pace of wage outflows slowed down, bonuses fell and real wage growth was curbed by high inflation. The impact of the coronavirus pandemic will come later and the extent to which the myriad factors will have an impact is unpredictable – analysts told MTI commented on previously published wage statistics.
According to a report issued by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Thursday, the average gross earnings in February were 377,300 HUF, 9.1 percent higher than a year earlier. In the first two months of the year, the average increase in earnings was 9.2 percent, and excluding public employees, 8.7 percent. (MTI)
