Analysts: trade surplus in May became smaller than expected
The trade surplus in May became smaller than the expectations of the analysts, but experts believe that the decline in the balance will be temporary.
According to the datas of the Central Statistical Office, published on Tuesday, the momentum of foreign trade turnover stopped in May. Exports declined by 1.9 percent and imports fell by 0.9 percent, compared to a year earlier. The trade balance surplus was 653 million euros, 76 million less than in last May. The trade surplus of the first five months amounted to 3.11 billion euros, 258 million euros more than in the same period of last year. (MTI)
