Analysts: lower than expected February retail sales
February retail sales figures were lower not only than the market consensus, but even the most pessimistic market analysts told MTI on Tuesday.
They stressed that the low growth is due in part to last year’s very high base.
According to the first estimate of the Central Statistical Office (KSH) released on Tuesday, the retail sales, according to the raw data increased by 1.0 percent, while calendar effect adjusted increased by 1.2 percent in February, compared to the same period of last year, after the 4.8 percent growth in January and the 3.8 percent calendar effect corrected growth.
