Food prices going up
The average increase in consumer price was 0,6 per cent in November 2007. Prices showed a year on year increase of 7,1 per cent. According to a KSH report, prices were up by 8 per cent on average in the first 11 months of 2007. Food prices rose by 1,4 per cent compared to October. Cooking oil, milk and cheese showed the highest price rise, while the price of pork dropped. .The price of vehicle fuel showed a substantial increase, whereas the prices of tobacco and alcoholic beverages only show a moderate increase. Food prices show a rise of 11,6 per cent compared to November 2006.
