The idea of the milk coffee tax has failed in Britain
The British government has rejected the idea of the so-called milk coffee tax that would be disposed on disposable coffee beans to reduce waste production because the government believes it a more effective solution that the cafes prefer discounts to customers who come with their own mugs, BBC News wrote.
According to the proposal described by the British Parliament’s Environmental Monitoring Committee in January, the tax rate would have been 25 pence (87 forints) per cup. The idea was that if the milk coffee tax can not meet the recycling targets until 2023, then the disposable glasses must be completely withdrawn from circulation. (MTI)
