SPAR going greener
SPAR’s operations are environmentally conscious in general, for instance last year the retailer collected and took care of the recycling of 40 percent of the waste they had produced. SPAR also wants to cut down on plastic use. Head of communications Márk Maczelka told: they only sell two types of plastic shopping bag, but there are many paper, non-woven, PP- and RPET-type bags available to shoppers. In 2017 more than one fifth of SPAR customers chose green bags and shopping bags while shopping. //
