Farmers in the region are already successfully selling their produce, for an average of HUF 500 per kilo. Although imported Egyptian sweet potatoes may be cheaper, they are still in demand in the market due to the quality and taste of the domestic crop. According to László Váraljai, a farmer from Ásotthalm, Egyptian imports may temporarily displace the domestic crop, but when the season ends, the domestic sweet potato will come to the fore again – reports novenyvedelem.hu
