Hungarians are consuming more and more instant soup
The latest FMCG trends show that Hungarians increasingly prefer food that can be prepared easily and quickly. Within this, instant soups have become particularly popular, they are easily available, can be prepared quickly, and are also economical.
On an annual basis, 4.1 servings of instant soup are consumed per person in Hungary. Even though the domestic consumption is far behind the countries of Asia, where 10 or even 20 times as many portions are consumed, the increase compared to previous years is clear.
The experts of HelloVidék magazine asked Veronika Ressely-Szarvas, the president of the communication committee of the National Association of Hungarian Dietitians, for their opinions. The specialist explained that although bagged soups are quick and convenient, it is worth studying their ingredients carefully. They can be high in sodium and fat, and contain artificial flavor enhancers and other additives.
According to the expert, bagged soups do not provide a complete meal, and in case of long-term consumption, they may lack important nutrients for the body. It is therefore important to consume in moderation and pay attention to the quality of the ingredients.
