Hungary is a net importer of pigs
The AKI has published its meat market report, which revealed that Hungary is a net importer of live pigs and pigmeat – agrarszektor.hu wrote.
The slaughterhouse of Csányi Sándor, which was launched last year, reaches its 100 percent production capacity this year, but its suckling power can be already felt by the number of imported live pigs. Domestic production is lagging far behind.
The live pig import grew by 35 percent last year, compared to 2016. The largest suppliers were Slovakia, Germany and the Netherlands. (agrarszektor.hu)
