More and more bakeries and meat shops are closing in Germany
More and more bakeries and meat and butcher’s shops are closing in Germany according to the report of the National Association of Craftsmen (ZDH).
According to the data of interest representation, the number of bakeries and meat shops in Germany has decreased by about 30 percent in the last ten years, and more stores are being closed than opened in the past few years.
At the end of last year, there were 10,926 bakeries in the country with 83 million inhabitants. Ten years before, in 2008, there were still 15,337 German bakeries, and twenty years before in 1998 almost twice as much: 21,406 (MTI)
