More young people bought Christmas presents using apps
The latest report by Selectivv has revealed that more and more consumers are using some kind of smartphone app to buy gifts. In the last quarter of 2018 the number of Hungarian shopping app users was growing dynamically – the most popular were the apps of eBay, eMag, Aliexpress and Fashiondays. In the examined period the majority of those ordering from Alixepress were younger than 30 years. More Hungarian men are using the app then women. However, the majority of eMag and Fashion Days buyers are women.
App-using shoppers in the 21-40 age group preferred eMag, Fashion Days and shopping centres when buying Christmas gifts. The proportion of Hungarians buying at eBay is growing dynamically among consumers younger than 20 years. Visitors of shopping centres and hypermarkets also like to use shopping apps: 39 percent of Tesco and Auchan customers and 41 percent of drugstores’ customers said they used a shopping app at the end of 2018. //
