China imports more and more wine
Paralell to the growth of wages and incomes, the consumption of wine and the consumption of imported wines are also growing in China.
Most of the wines (117.9 million liters) came from from France, about 33 million liters from Australia, 19 – 19 million liters from Spain and Italy. Chilean and the U.S. wines are also among the most popular import wine products. The volume of wine sold in China almost tripled last between 2006 and 2011, last year it is estimated that one and a half million bottles were sold. (MTI)
