More and more farmers are growing asparagus
Domestic asparagus growers may expect smaller revenues this year, because due to the cool weather the season starts very slow.
In some areas, 20-30 percent less was harvested from the vegetables than the average. The demand is steady towards the high-quality Hungarian product, while consumption is growing on the internal market as well – Magyar Idők wrote. Eighty percent of the domestic crop is exported.
