More foreigners in Budapest
According to a KSH report, the number of nights spent at commercial places of accommodation increased by 2.7 per cent in January-February 2008, compared to the same period in 2007, while revenues were up by 8 per cent. The number of foreign visitors in Budapest increased by 13 per cent. 328,000 foreigners spent a total of 845,000 nights in commercial places of accommodation in the first two months of 2008. The number of visitors from EU countries was up by 16 per cent. Wellness hotels recorded the highest increase in guests. The total number of Hungarian guests was 430,000 with 947,000 nights. Hotels operated at 36.5 per cent capacity on average, which was 1.5 per cent higher than in the same period last year.
