There are more and more bike stands following the recommendations of cycling experts at SPAR stores
SPAR Hungary equips its newly opened stores with comfortable and safe bicycle racks, and special attention is also paid to them when modernizing existing stores. Taking into account the recommendations of the Magyar Kerékpárosklub regarding the placement of bicycles, the easy-to-install solution is already being used in 17 SPAR stores.
“SPAR Hungary makes significant investments every year, during which we open new stores and modernize our older stores. When planning each of our developments, we take into account a wide variety of aspects, from the design of the stores to their accessibility. In recent years, we have noticed that more and more people are doing their shopping by bicycle. We want to offer them a convenient and safe solution for storing their bicycles. We received a lot of help in this from the Hungarian Cycling Club, taking into account its recommendations, we are designing the bike racks in the parking lots of the stores and next to the buildings.”
– explained Márk Maczelka, head of communications at SPAR Hungary.
The Hungarian Cycling Club is a non-governmental organization founded in 2002, which now has more than two thousand members across the country. Its main goal is to promote the spread of cycling in Hungary and to create its culture. The organization is an important player in public life, providing professional assistance in the preparation of relevant government decisions and contributing to the preparation and implementation of plans. Traffic and construction engineers with design rights and working in the design profession participate in the working group that brings together the organization’s activities related to traffic development, bicycle infrastructure planning, and bicycle storage.
