There are more and more student workers: what are they collecting for?
For many young people, the summer period is not only a time for rest and fun, but also for work. According to recent research by OTP Bank, the majority of young people between the ages of 16 and 30 work and save for various purposes, such as an apartment, car or travel.
According to the research, 62% of young people work while studying. 28% of them work casually, 17% part-time, while 12% regularly do casual work. This trend shows that it is important for young people to gain work experience and achieve financial independence.
54% of the interviewed young people collect for some purpose. Some of the most common savings goals include:
Buying or renovating an apartment: 40% of young people save for such purposes.
Technical articles and entertainment electronics: This category is also highly ranked.
General reserve: Young people often set aside for emergencies.
Car and travel: These goals are also common among savings.
Festivals: Entertainment options also play an important role in financial plans.
One year ago, OTP Bank introduced the Persely service, which enables customers to save digitally for various purposes. Customers have already opened more than two hundred and twenty thousand Perselys, which highlights the financial habits of young people.
