The demand for information in agriculture is increasing
External, primarily tender and area-based funding is indispensable for the operation of European agricultural enterprises, without which most domestic enterprises would be unprofitable. Although all this is not necessarily true in the case of organic farming, even in this knowledge-intensive cultivation method there is a huge demand for up-to-date financial information, as evidenced by the recently ended conference series of Biokontroll.
Biokontroll Hungária Nonprofit Kft., which certifies organic farmers, held three online conferences for a narrower segment. The three events organized for organic processing plants, organic horticulture and organic livestock farmers were primarily about how the above economic actors can participate as effectively as possible in the expected, partly still in projects supporting investments under social consultation. At the events, a total of almost 600 participating applicants received information from Biokontroll’s own specialists (inspectors, certifiers), while several well-known, previously successful players in the segment also shared their experiences with those interested.
The application system provides very significant subsidies for organic farmers, but it is becoming more and more complicated. Applicants must meet a number of technical, agro-professional and financial requirements – Dr. Péter Roszík, executive director of Biokontroll Hungária Nonprofit Kft., which organized the events, pointed out the most important experience of the conference series. All this is not arbitrary. On the one hand, it ensures the realization of sustainable management as a primary goal, on the other hand, it pays special attention to the prevention of abuses, unfortunately at the same time increasing the risk of mistakes.
