Wellness resorts becoming more popular
The number of nights spent by guests in commercial places of accommodation fell by 3,5 per cent last year. According to a report by KSH, total income in the sector grew by 5 per cent, with the price of accommodation rising by 6 per cent. Total income of the sector was HUF 288 billion in 2006, generated by 1841 places of accommodation. The number of hotels declined by 6 units, while the number of pensions fell by 65 compared to the situation at the end of 2005. Last year, 3,2 million foreign visitors spent a total of 9,8 million nights in Hungary which means a decline of 6 per cent in the number of visitors and 9 per cent in the number of nights.
