Mangalica is getting more and more popular in the U.S. market
Nowadays, thousands of Mangalica are bred in the U.S. Their meat, fat is getting more and more popular, they are four times more expensive than normal pigs. The mangalica meat dishes can be found in the menus of the most famous restaurants – writes Népszava, after the New York Times.
The “next big thing” in the United States can be the Mangalica, that was brought back from the edge of extinction – wrote New York Times. A growing number of breeders and traders deal with the Hungarian pigs, more and more famous restaurants include them to their menu.
According to the American farmers and experts the mangalica will gain a “narrow, but significant, high-profit generating part” in the market.
