Fewer employees are working for less real wages
The gross average earnings in the first nine months of 2009 decreased by 1.2, the net average earnings were 1.8 percent, higher than in the previous year. The real wages (with the 3.9 percent growth of prices) are 2.0 percent below last year’s datas.
Real earnings increased by 0.4 percent in the competitive sector. In the financial sector (mostly because of the change of the 13th monthly benefit payment rules) a 7.8 percent decrease has been occured compared to the same period last year.
The number of employed in January-September of 2009 was an average of 2 million 664 thousand people. In the fiscal sphere 744 thousand in the competition sphere, 1 million 831 thousand people were working – reports Central Statistical Office.
