Beer will become more and more expensive due to climate change
As a result of climate change and increased food consumption, there will be less beer and it will be more expensive – researchers said. The price of a ton of barley was 170 in 2017, last year it was 270 euros – piacesprofit.hu wrote.
The Nature Plants magazine published their study, which says that the world will be able to produce less beer in the future and its price will gradually increase.
The main reason is climate change, which causes droughts, hot periods and consequently less barley. If the average temperature continues to rise, the price of all types of beer, even non-alcoholic beer, can double, and in some parts of the world, it will cost four times more.
