The Rossmann app is now in the pockets of one million users – another digital milestone in the life of the Online Drugstore
The Rossmann Online Drugstore mobile application has reached a milestone: the application has reached one million active users. The first version of the app was launched in 2018, then underwent a comprehensive renewal in May 2023, which raised the user experience to a new level and significantly accelerated growth.
The development of the Rossmann mobile application clearly demonstrates the transformation of customer needs and digital commerce. The application reached a half-million active user base in April 2023, and then managed to double this number in less than three years: it crossed the one million mark on November 19, 2025.
“One million active users is not just a number, but also feedback for us that we are moving in the right direction. Our customers are increasingly aware and willing to do their drugstore shopping via mobile, and we are working to make this as simple, fast and enjoyable as possible”
– said Zoltán Fodor, the operational manager of Rossmann Hungary webshop.
The application has now clearly become the primary digital channel for customers: around 70 percent of online orders come via mobile applications, while 30 percent are made on desktop platforms. The app’s usage rate shows a 10–15 percent increase year on year, which is a good indication of the rise of mobile shopping.
Following the major redesign in May 2023, the application has been continuously expanded with smaller developments and new features. Rossmann pays special attention to user-friendliness, easy navigation and an experiential digital presence. As part of this, gamification elements, games and activities have appeared in the application, which not only make use more fun, but also actively involve customers.
The company’s digital development plans also include functions that support everyday life, which can offer an even more personal and relevant user experience in the future – with particular attention to the needs of female customers and health awareness.
Rossmann’s goal remains that the Online Drogéria mobile application should not only be a shopping platform, but also a digital companion that provides real added value in everyday life.
