Are Egypt, fenugreek seeds responsible for the diarrheal epidemic?
According to the latest report of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control; the diarrheal epidemic that infected in Germany and France, are due to seeds imported from Egypt – reports BBC. Although according to the center; there are still a lot of uncertainty about the source of the epidemic. It is believed that fenugreek seeds caused the infection, which were imported from Egypt in 2009 and 2010.
The British Thompson and Morgan, acknowledged, that they imported such seeds from Egypt, and they also exported them to France.
According to the center; it is possible that other parts of Europe or even countries out of Europe may also received from the infected seeds. Thus it is conceivable that new epidemics will break out. The center advises everyone not to plant seeds of uncertain origin – reports index.
