Some edible insects are rich in antioxidants like fresh orange juice
The antioxidant level of edible insects was measured by a study for the first time, and as it turned out, grasshoppers and silkworms contain as many antioxidants as fresh orange juice – the Phys.org’s scientific news portal reported.
“At least two billion people – a quarter of the Earth’s population – regularly consume insects. The others need some encouragement,” – said Mauro Serafini, professor at the University of Teramo in Italy, the leading author of the study published in Frontiers in Nutrion. (MTI)
