Shampoo average prices develop steadily
Shampoo ranks ninth among the 60 household chemicals and cosmetics categories measured by Nielsen. The annual market is worth HUF 11 billion and value sales were up by 2 percent, but down by 7 percent in terms of volume in January-October 2009. Private labels realised 24 percent of value sales in September-October. Volume-weighted average prices were oscillating between HUF 526 and HUF 1,549 per litre. In both value (19 percent) and volume, shampoo for greasy hair has the biggest market share. From shampoo volume sales hypermarkets’ share grew from 37 percent to 41.
