No food can be made from the larvae of the flour beetle for the time being
For the time being, it is still necessary to wait for food to be prepared in the European Union using the larva of the common flour beetle – Magyar Nemzet Online wrote.
Although the European Authority has found the insect to be fit for human consumption, the European Commission must also authorize the use for the Union and the Member States. The procedure, according to Nébih, will take several more months. Incidentally, the use of insect protein for food purposes has provoked serious controversy in the past.
