Another test confirmed the content of pesticides harmful to health in the Ukrainian grain examined in Slovakia
The third test – this time carried out in Denmark – also confirmed that the Ukrainian grain tested in Slovakia two weeks ago contains a plant protection product banned in the European Union, which is harmful to health, announced the Slovak Executive Minister of Agriculture Samuel Vlcan on Tuesday.

In April, the Slovak Animal Health and Food Safety Authority (SVPS) carried out an examination of 1,500 tons of wheat from Ukraine in the Gúta (Kolárovo) mill, and in the course of this, a plant protection agent harmful to health was detected. On the basis of this, the Slovak Ministry of Education has with immediate effect prohibited the processing of Ukrainian grain and flour already imported into the country, as well as its inclusion in food production and feeding processes, and announced that all grain and flour of Ukrainian origin already in storage in the country will be subjected to a similar inspection. “Today we also have the results of the so-called final test, they arrived on Monday from the Copenhagen laboratory. They confirmed the pesticide content, showing 0.024 milligrams per kilogram. So they confirm the results of our tests,” the Slovak public service news agency TASR quoted Samuel Vlcan as saying. .The Slovak minister said: the next step will now be for the owner to decide in what way they want to destroy the grain containing the plant protection agent harmful to health.
Following the measure banning the processing of Ukrainian grain, Slovakia stopped the import of Ukrainian grain and several other agricultural products from Ukraine with effect from April 19. In addition to grain, the import stop also applies to sugar, seeds, dried fodder, hops, flax, hemp, vegetables and fruit, as well as products made from them, as well as wine, ethyl alcohol and honey.
