A program supporting teachers and a wool processing company won the Generali EnterPRIZE 2024 application
The serious crises of recent years present challenges to European small and medium-sized enterprises in everyday life and in the economic environment: the joint research of Generali with Bocconi University revealed, among other things, that in addition to financial difficulties, the implementation of sustainability efforts required greater efforts than before . At the same time, more and more SMEs are following an ESG strategy at home, or at least have already actively taken steps in this direction. Generali’s EnterPRIZE program tries to help with this transition: in the last four years, the number of domestic small and medium-sized enterprises that have applied for Generali’s call has increased to nearly four hundred.
In order to support the SME sector, the international Generali Group launched the EnterPrize business development and attitude shaping program.
This year, businesses could submit their applications in two categories for which sustainability efforts they would like to receive the HUF 7-7 million application fee.
In the Environmental Protection category, SMEs were eligible to apply for projects related to environmental protection, such as recycling or communication aimed at strengthening consumers’ environmental awareness. In the Community category, applications were expected from companies whose programs aim to support employees and even their families with various events and programs that have an impact on the shaping of the community.
In 2024, the winner of the Environmental protection category is Multifelt Factory Kft. Let, whose predecessor has been producing organic wool felt since 1896. By using HUF 7 million won in the EnterPrize competition, their plan is zero waste: so far, the by-products generated during production have been donated to various educational institutions to make objects. Soon, however, so-called eco-acoustic panels will be made from the by-products, which consist of 100% natural material and could be widely used due to their excellent sound-absorbing ability. In addition, their goal is to communicate the new product, and in the long term, their main plan is to create together with domestic designers (felt lampshades, room divider screens) and quickly, flexibly, in small series to satisfy individual customer needs, and to promote wool as a super material.
