A Hungarian food product was ranked among the best in the world
Hungarian food products have achieved significant success at one of the world’s most prestigious culinary competitions, the Great Taste Awards. The independent panel of experts, composed of chefs, food critics, and gastronomy bloggers, tested over 15,000 food items at this year’s event.
Once again, Virágbéke Méz Manufaktúra is celebrating success after their victories last year. In 2022, their chestnut honey and Hortobágyi BIO wildflower honey received awards. This year, their acacia honey was awarded two stars, and their raspberry flower honey earned one star.
The acacia honey from Virágbéke is characterized by its floral taste, making it a dessert honey. Known for its anti-inflammatory and soothing properties, this variety of honey boasts a beautiful yellow color, attractive viscosity, mesmerizing aroma, and complex, distinctive flavor.
On the other hand, the raspberry flower honey is a special type of honey collected from the blossoms of raspberry bushes. Its unique color and unmistakable flavor make it a popular choice, especially as a dessert accompaniment.
In addition to the honey, a Hungarian gin also received recognition from the judges this year. However, the success of Hungarian honey products also sheds light on the challenges faced by domestic beekeepers. The Virágbéke Méz Manufaktúra is an example of the effort that beekeepers put into producing authentic products.
Nevertheless, the honey market is not without its difficulties. Many Hungarian beekeepers encounter obstacles, and production costs often exceed revenue. Despite this, their dedication and commitment contribute to the maintenance and growth of the quality Hungarian honey market.
