Wheat and corn prices down by more than half in one year
According to AKI PÁIR data, the producer price of milling wheat in Hungary – excluding VAT and transport costs – was HUF 65,300/tonne in the second week of November (-53% compared to a year earlier), feed wheat cost HUF 57,400/tonne (-56%), and feed corn was sold for HUF 56,700/tonne (-57%).

At the same time, the producer price of industrial sunflower seeds (including high oleic sunflower seeds) was HUF 123,900/tonne (-52%), rapeseed cost HUF 155,600/tonne (-44%) and soybean could be purchased for HUF 151,400/tonne (-39%).
According to AKI slaughtering statistics, 500,000 tonnes (live weight) of poultry were slaughtered in Hungary in the first nine months of 2023, 7% more than in the same period of 2022. From this broiler chicken accounted for 372,000 tonnes (+9%) and broiler turkey for 52,000 tonnes (-18%). KSH data says that poultry meat exports in Hungary increased by 3% to 137,000 tonnes in the first eight months of 2023, compared to the same period of 2022. //
