GFK: Consolidation process in the retail sphere began
Following the worst downfall of the crisis of 2009, a rather slow process of consolidation began last year in the retail sphere of Hungary – GFK's new survey revealed today.
The greatest increase can be attributed to hipermarkets and smaller outlet-chains, whereas supermarkets proved to be less popular than previously. Drugstores are still successful when it comes to the sales of FMCG-products.
As a whole, households spent 1.4 percent more on FMCG-products and chemicals than they did in the previous year. The numbers are not exactly well-balanced: it was only the second part of 2010 when a slow consolidation process began.
