METRO’s office supplies offering can be divided into four groups: office supply, school supply, office furniture and office machines. Communications manager Yvette Krubl reckons METRO is strong in the category because it doesn’t only focus on the school start period like competitors do. Services, companies and offices are the main buyers of the office supply category, whom METRO targets with a wide selection of products, lots of promotions and tailor-made services. METRO offers competitive prices and focuses on its own brands: ARO products are so-called first price products and the Sigma line represents ‘B’ brand level. METRO also sells ‘A’ brand products such as Stabilo, Herlitz, Esselte and Xerox. Ms Krubl mentions office furniture among their novelties – office chairs are already very popular. In the winter season METRO’s office supplies catalogue covers the 21 November-24 December period.
