Food consumption to be transformed drastically: meat will be eaten with meat

Food production is facing a serious challenge as food demand in the next decades may rise by 70 percent, while significant dietary changes occur. In the future, menu will be meat with meat and the consumption of dairy products will rise – was said at the Agrár Klub (Agtri Club) held for the food sector executives in the K & H.

Statistics on the growth of the world’s population have once again become the key issue for agricultural productivity. “In the past, the food industry’s output was was boosted by resource intensity involving more resources or involving input materials. In the decades ahead, however, we have to resort to other solutions, as it is estimated that by 2050 the global population will grow by about 30 percent, while food demand will increase by 70 percent, while the agricultural area can no longer be substantially increased.
