Increasing cereal prices
According to the data of AKI PÁIR, in Hungary the producer price of milling wheat (excluding VAT and transport costs) was HUF 74.6 thousand per tonne (+29 percent), feed wheat’s price was HUF 70.8 thousand per tonne (+38 percent), of feed maize it was HUF 74.1 thousand per tonne (+61 percent) in the last week of April.
At the same time, the producer price of rapeseed was HUF 168.6 thousand per tonne, sunflower seed’s price (with high oleic sunflower seed) was HUF 168.4 thousand per tonne (+35 percent). Meanwhile processors’ sales price of full-fat soybean was HUF 187.4 thousand per tonne, excluding VAT and transport costs.
On the 18th week domestic primeur carrots in bunches were launched on the market at a price of HUF 250/package and parsley root at a price of HUF 320/package. On the week under review domestic greenhouse-grown strawberries were offered at a price of HUF 2,100 and unmarked domestic apples at a price of HUF 310 per kilogram; the former at a price 12 percent lower and the latter at a price 7 percent higher than on the 18th week of the previous year.
The producer price of domestically bred slaughter pigs (excluding VAT and transport costs) was HUF 514/kilogram carcass weight in March 2021, which was a 23 percent decrease compared to the average price in March 2020. The processing sales price of cut pork decreased by 21 percent in March 2021, compared to the same month in 2020. //
