We can expect an expensive Easter this year, especially on the ham front

The experts of the Pénzcentrum made it clear that one of the key factors influencing the expected increase in the price of Easter ham is the serious problems of the pork sector. According to Tamás Éder, the president of the Association of Hungarian Meat Producers, not only the rough inflation caused by the war, but also the problems experienced in the pig sector pose significant challenges to pig farmers.

In the last four years, the price of pork leg has already risen significantly, and according to experts, the reason for this is partly to be found in the problems of the pork sector. Tamás Éder pointed out that the price of pork in Hungary can be expected to rise further due to the increase in the “German markup”, which may also affect the price of Easter ham.
